Scared

Let me give you a little background. My wife has some health problems. One of the obvious ones is her weight. Her weight is causing trouble breathing, moving, and a couple other things.

I am afraid of losing her. She means so much to me. She is only getting worse. She can't exercise very much. The other night she suggested a surgery. She has done some looking into gastric bypass. Now, the operation is neither here nor there. The possible outcomes of the surgery is what scares me. The best is that the surgery is a success and she starts losing the weight. I know that with modern medicine where it is today, especially with me being in the nursing field.

Now, I am going to be selfish and stupid. :)
The main reason that I am scared is that the surgery is a huge success and she loses all the weight. She returns to college. (Not being selfish yet) She makes friends with better looking guys and leaves me. (Now isn't that selfish??) I mean she had boyfriend's before she met me. She even dated people after we met. She picked me out of all of them. I am just being an insecure little snot.

I guess I just love her so much that I can't imagine my life without her. :)

1. When upset do you: scurry off to a corner to recover alone, growl at the hapless people who're silly enough to be near you, or continue as if nothing happened while burning up inside?
Usually continue as if nothing happened.
2. One of your best friends turns out to be saying hurtful and untrue things behind your back. You don't want to believe it - but it's true. Would you confront them, ignore them, or wail and scream privately but act as if nothing happened to their face ? (Or any other reactions)
I would like to think that I would confront them. I definitely wouldn't ignore them or wail and scream. What is the point of doing either of those. :)
3. When a situation arises where you're accused of being the party that's at fault, is your first reaction to: make an excuse to defend yourself, start analyzing your behavior to see if the accusation is true, or immediately accept that it must have been you?
I try to explain. I don't make up an excuse. I accept that I am at fault. I know that I am at fault a lot of the time, but don't get called on it.

Thursday Threesome

Onesome: Learning-- Hey, what would you like to learn how to do this Summer? Learn to ride a motorcycle (like Sarah)? Learn PHP? Learn how to chill out and vegetate properly (lessons available )?

Water Ski. :)

Twosome: to-- Too? Two? Okay, two things you are positively not going to learn how to do! Ever!
Sky Diving (I would like to learn but I have an inner ear thing that pops on air planes) and hunting

Threesome: Ride-- Speaking of motorcycles: Do you ride? Did you ever ride? ...or do you just enjoy them? ...or maybe, "No way!"?
I have ridden. I don't have access to a bike at the moment though. I would love to ride all summer long. :)

Trilogies

1) The Back to the Future Trilogy sent Marty McFly 30 years into the future, 30 years into the past (twice!) and 100 years into the past. Which of these time periods would you like to visit in your 1.21 gigawatt-powered DeLorean, and why?
100 years to the past. I just love the old west. :)
2) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was, of course, based on a famous trio of novels by JRR Tolkien. What sci-fi/fantasy/genre novels or series would you like to see turned into a Peter-Jackson-directed/George-Lucas-written/Steven-Speilberg-produced trilogy?
I think I would like to see the Shannara series. :)
3) Next summer, there will be two complete Star Wars trilogies in the history books. What's your strangest or most interesting Star Wars experience?
Going to see Star Wars in the movie theatres for the first time. Seeing all those people looking like Darth Vader, waving their light sabers and mock fighting. *cackle*
Bonus) While the Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones movies are currently only trilogies, plans are in the works for a fourth movie in both series. What trilogy might've been better served with a fourth movie? Which trilogy would've been better if they had left it at only one movie?
I didn't like the second or third Jurrassic Park movies. I do think I would like to see a fourth Indiana Jones movie. :)

3x Thursday

1. What do you think about car companies using popular music (take Cadillac and them using Led Zepplin) in their commercials? Do you think it's right for them to take a well-known song and use it for their own profit?
I say why not. They pay for the music. It is not like the artist's record dealer isn't getting anything out of it. :P
2. What is the trend lately with electronica music (triphop and breakbeat type stuff) being in commercials? Do you recognize any of it? Does it bother you?
Been wondering how long it would take. I recognize some of it. No it doesn't bother me. I remember watching some movies in the early '80's about computers taking over people just to play music. :)
3. Depending on what the product is, do you think that companies use certain music to cater to certain age groups? Does it work? Is it morally correct? Why/Why not?
Of course they do. Yes. Sure. They pay for the music and people don't HAVE to buy their product. Of course I miss the commercials from the '80's. They all had little catchy tunes. :)

Bonus Question for Comments: For the music geeks out there: What's the meaning of this week's title for the 3x Thursday? (correct answers recieve brownies with icing)
I don't have a clue. :)

Wednesday Mind Hump

01. You are battery operated - what are you? What size batteries do you require and how many?
I am one of those Robots from the '80s. You know the ones that kind of walk, with the flashing eyes and cheesy sounds. I need to D batteries. :)
02. Ohmigosh! You're on the cover of the National Inquirer (or other trash magazine)! What is the headline? Give us an except for the inside story?
Man gets confused leaving house. Evidently, this man installed a new doorknob on his front door. One of the ones that looks like a lever. Well, he couldn't figure out how to turn it (the doorknob).
03. If you could be ANY sex symbol (living or dead) who would it be and why? What question do you think you'd most get asked?
The "Fonz". He was cool. I think that I would get asked, "How do you keep your hair so nice even after riding on your Harley. :)
04. You are lighter than air, you float. C'mon, introduce youself - what are you?
Sorry the wind blowing through my ears is distracting me from this one. :)
05. Your blog just won an award for being the best. What is it for? You've also been given an "award" for being the worst. What is it for.
Graphics. My wife did them and I have very happy with her work. :) and the worst is for the same thing!!! *cackle* :)

Do members of your household rotate chores on a regular basis?
Sometimes...but usually I do it myself.

Thursday Threesome

::Beginnings, Middles and Ends::

Onesome- Beginnings: Are there any television shows out there that you've watched regularly from the very beginning? Or for those of you not into TV, any book authors that you've read from the very beginning?
I can't think of any. But, I do like all of Roseanne. Even in re-runs. :)
Twosome- Middles: What about shows that you came into in the middle of the season but immediately grabbed your attention and turned you into a die-hard fan? Again, for non-TV fans, have you ever begun reading a series of books in the middle and then just had to read everything else in the series?
Judging Amy is really cool. I missed the season finale though. :(
Threesome- And Ends: Recently, a number of big name shows have ended, Friends, Fraiser, The Drew Carey Show, and the cult hit, Angel. Did you watch any of the big finales? Have you ever been really sad to see a show go? Ok, readers, here's one for you. Have you ever read the end of a book first? Why? ;)
I watched Friends finale. :) Oh, and Tool Time. At the time, I was sorry to see Tool Time go. But, I am not sure any more. I guess I have gotten over it. :)

1. What if a close friend liked you?
I hope that they like me. I wouldn't think that they would become a close friend if they didn't.
2. What if you liked her friend?
That would be normal wouldn't it?? Friends of friends are always cool to have. :)
3. What if she asked you out?
Can my wife come also??? :)
4. What if the friend that liked you started being hateful?
I would ask what was wrong. If they are being hateful towards me, there would have to be a reason or they wouldn't have been my friend to begin with. :)
5. Would it be worth it to lose a friend for a girlfriend?
It would just show how good of a friend they are. If you are going to lose them just because you are dating someone, shows that they either need to be more open with you, or they weren't a very good friend.

Wednesday Whatevers

1. Would you want an arranged marriage or choose your own? Why?
Choose your own. Arranged marriages, you have to learn to love someone. When you choose them, you should already be in love. :)
2. What would you sacrifice for someone else?
That depends on who it is. If it is my wife, then I would sacrifice everything. If it is someone else, it would depend on the circumstances. :)
3. Do you think God has a gender? If so, what is it?
Sort of. :) God is a female, but she has parts that can be male. I say God is female because I have yet to meet a man that would work non-stop for 6 days. And, create things??? Be serious.

Nope
2. If Yes: Do your parents disapprove? If No: Would you like to?
Nope. I am old and decrepid. :)
3. When was the last time you went to a party?
Summer of '99
4. Would you rather go in a big group of people or just a few close friends?
Few close friends
5. Is there a party you regret going to?
Yeah, my freshman year of college. I saw some things there that I didn't care to know about. Like my roommates girlfriend being past around to all the other guys on our dorm floor. Now, I am not completely sexist because I was thinking that the guys were the gross ones. Of course, I don't like it when guys go around putting notches on their bed posts. But, if guys can do it, why can't women?? *cackle*

Saturday-8

1. today i am going to see the movie "troy," as it stars my favourite actor of all time, the british sex god sean bean. are you planning on seeing it? why or why not?
Nope. It just doesn't look like a good movie to me so far. I may change my mind later, but I doubt it.
2. the other day i purchased gas for $2.07 per gallon. i about threw up. what is the current gas price in your area? (please specify grade)
I think it is like 1.95 for the cheap stuff. :)
3. sean bean is my lust, and the german actor thomas kretschmann comes in at a close second. who are your first and second actor/actress "loves"?
I think Julia Roberts is very pretty. I don't really have a love as far as actors or actresses go. But, some of my girlfriends think that Sean Connery and John Travolta are just adorable. And, my wife would probably leave me for Antonio Banderas. She has a bigger thing for Lorenzo Llamas, but is realistic enough to know that a relationship with him wouldn't last much past the honey moon, so she would never marry him. *chuckle*
4. i am going to canada via syracuse, ny in july, and had to purchase my tickets WAAAAAAY early because we're afraid the ticket prices will go up dramatically due to the rising oil prices. are you travelling this summer on a vacation?
What is a vacation??? *chuckle*
5. is there any movie this summer that you're looking to see this summer, or any books you want to read that are going to be printed & released this summer? tell us about them...
Shrek 2. That looks adorable!!! :) I also want to read the High Druid of Shannara and The First Rider by Kristen Britain.
6. what is your favourite vacation destination, and why?
Disney World. My parents live in Kissimmee so it is free to stay there. :)
7. have you heard about netflix.com? if so, have you joined/are you planning to join, and why/why not? if you haven't heard of netflix.com, go there and tell us what you think about it. personally, i'm an addict on the "5-out" programme...
My wife may look into it. I work to much to worry about where I am going to get another movie from. :(
8. are you a good flier? i have problems on takeoff, but landing and flying are no problem.
I have problems with take offs and landings. I have to chew gum or I will get a vicious ear ache that won't go away for a week. Of course, my wife won't step foot on a plane. So I don't have to worry about that. :)
