My little Amy is going to get married. *cackle*
She still has a thing for this other guy, but as long as she stays out of town she doesn't miss him. She does think about him occasionally though. *shrug*
She was so sure that she wanted to get married, now that the wedding is 2 weeks away, she is have second thoughts. I think it is cold feet, but you never know. :(
Anyway, I am trying to talk the missus into going. She doesn't really want to though. Since Amy is my friend and she doesn't know her or anyone else that is going to be at the wedding, she doesn't want to go. But, she wants me to go. Amy has threatened my life if I don't go. I just want Marli to be there with me. *shrug*
I got a letter from K-State saying that the dean will consider my reinstatement after I jump through 15 - 20 hoops. Set up an appt with this advisor, run over to talk with this person, do a couple cart wheels, meet with this person, who happens to share the office with the first person, do a little bit on the uneven bars, spring through a couple flaming hoops, and bring all this paperwork back to the dean. All to get back into a college that I only want to spend one semester in so that I can get my prereqs our of the way for the LPN program at the JuCo. I don't want anything else besides full time classes. :P
Guess I start making calls and setting up appointments starting Tuesday morning. :)
Maybe I can just show up and get the paperwork. :)
Maybe.
I was working with a CNA tonight that is trying to do more and more on her own. Only problem with this is that she is like 5'2" and weighs like 130 pounds. Now she has the muscle, but in that size the muscle don't amount to much. So she tried to move a resident up in bed by herself. Which is a no no anyway, but the guy she tried to move up is about 5'10" and weighs about 185 pounds. If some of you have tried to drag dead weight around, you know what happened. She ended up just giving him a hug like 2 or 3 times. When she figured out that she wasn't moving him at all, she said to him, "I'm sorry. I need to go get some help." He being the older gentleman, and being a man on top of it responded with, "That is ok. The pleasure was all mine." :)
She had a good giggle and then when she and I moved him up in bed, she told me the story. I was too busy laughing and congratulating the gentleman. *cackle*
You won't believe this one. My jaw dropped when I heard about it. Once a month, we have an activity called Happy Hour. This is where we invite all the family and friends of all the residents and serve them chips, barbecue chicken, meatballs, and drinks. Mostly non-alcoholic drinks, but some of the residents and family members have alcoholic ones. :)
Now here is the stupid part. One of the CNA's decided to go get herself a rum and coke. WHILE on the clock, she is only 18, and state surveyors were STILL in the building!!! I mean how can you be so naive as to think that it was ok to drink while at work!!!
ARGH!!!!
